Another CCS-class carbon fiber composite high-speed passenger ship starts construction
Recently, China Classification Society ( CCS ) was invited to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony of the SN004 carbon fiber composite high-speed passenger ship project of Guangdong Zhongwei Composite Materials Co., Ltd.
This project is a major project jointly participated by Guangzhou Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd., Guangdong Zhongwei Composite Materials Co., Ltd. and Yinghui Southern Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. Zhongwei Company is responsible for the construction of four ships, including two 500 -passenger conventional power carbon fiber composite materials. High-speed passenger ship, a 500 - seat hybrid carbon fiber composite high-speed passenger ship, and a 400 - seat conventional power carbon fiber composite high-speed passenger ship, all of which are CCS class.
Ship SN004 is one of the two 500 -seat conventional power carbon fiber composite high-speed passenger ships in this project . It is also the first carbon fiber composite high-speed passenger ship flying the Hong Kong flag and operating in Hong Kong waters. The ship is 44.75 meters long and 11 meters wide. The speed is 26 knots and is expected to be delivered by the end of December 2023 .
Due to the light weight of carbon fiber composite materials, carbon fiber composite ships have natural advantages in energy saving and emission reduction. According to the construction experience of previous shipyards, compared with other ships of the same volume, carbon fiber composite ships can save energy and reduce emissions by nearly 40% . % .
The difference between the construction of carbon fiber composite ships and other materials ships is mainly concentrated in the main hull structure. CCS has been continuously practiced and summarized, from the overall design of carbon fiber composite materials, the selection of carbon fiber / core layer materials to carbon fiber cutting, the laying of carbon fiber / core layer materials in the model, the one-time vacuum forming of the main hull structure in the model, the production of the plate workshop and the hull. Structural assembly, etc., have a comprehensive grasp of the production design and construction technology of carbon fiber composite ships, and have accumulated rich experience in carbon fiber composite ship construction and inspection.
CCS Guangzhou Branch and Zhongwei Company have always maintained a pleasant cooperation. So far, the two parties have completed the construction of a number of carbon fiber composite ships, and the ships have been put into passenger transportation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
